Horror Hotels And Other Creepy Film Locations

All these locations have one thing in common; they are the main settings in famous horror movies. I don’t know about you but I think these destinations are unique in their own right, so even if you are not a horror film fan like me you could still visit and take in their character and charm.
Some of these places even have their own ghostly goings on and were well know before they were used in these iconic films.
I personally would jump at the chance of visiting or holidaying at these locations as I’m an avid viewer of all these paranormal shows on TV at the moment, whether or not I would be able to get to sleep in these places would be another thing altogether…

1. The Shining (1980)

Quote from Movie:

Jack Torrance: Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in. Not by the hair of your chinny-chin-chin? Well then I’ll huff and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in.
[axes the door]

Think he might be a bit mental… yep he’s lost his marbles!!!

2. Amityville (1979)

“George and Kathy Lutz” played by James Brolin and Margot Kidder

Quote from Movie:

Father Delaney: I checked into the murders. And I checked into the twenty year old boy who killed his parents, and his four brothers and sisters. And when he was at trial, he testified that he heard voices in the house. He heard voices in the house and the voices told him to do it! Now, I was in the house and I heard the voices, too! And I also felt their presence in the house! I’m telling you, there was a presence in that house!

Oooohhh that’s very creepy, scared now and in may 2010 it was up for sale! I would buy it… if I could only get my hands on $1.5million. Dream on…

“Norman Bates” played by Anthony Perkins
Quote from Movie:

Norma Bates: No! I tell you no! I won’t have you bringing some young girl in for supper! By candlelight, I suppose, in the cheap, erotic fashion of young men with cheap, erotic minds!
Norman Bates: Mother, please…!
Norma Bates: And then what? After supper? Music? Whispers?
Norman Bates: Mother, she’s just a stranger. She’s hungry, and it’s raining out!
Norma Bates: “Mother, she’s just a stranger”! As if men don’t desire strangers! As if… ohh, I refuse to speak of disgusting things, because they disgust me! You understand, boy? Go on, go tell her she’ll not be appeasing her ugly appetite with MY food… or my son! Or do I have tell her because you don’t have the guts! Huh, boy? You have the guts, boy?

Norman Bates: Shut up! Shut up!
Personally I love a man that dresses up as his mother and argues with himself… What a nut job!!!

“Leather Face” Played by Gunnar Hansen

Quote from Movie:

Narrator: The film which you are about to see is an account of the tragedy which befell a group of five youths, in particular Sally Hardesty and her invalid brother, Franklin. It is all the more tragic in that they were young. But, had they lived very, very long lives, they could not have expected nor would they have wished to see as much of the mad and macabre as they were to see that day. For them an idyllic summer afternoon drive became a nightmare. The events of that day were to lead to the discovery of one of the most bizarre crimes in the annals of American history, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Love this film and true story, it creeps me out big style as it could happen…  and it did!!

Guest Blogger Demon Chick’s next article is all about where to visit at Halloween and would love to visit a few of these places for research purposes. She is now checking the Channel Tunnel Prices and the fares for the Ferry to France to decide which one to travel by.
